Meitheal currently markets 50 US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved products across numerous therapeutic areas including anti-infectives, oncolytics, intensive care, and fertility. As of the end of April 2023, Meitheal, directly or through its partners, has over 20 products in the research and development phase, 21 products planned for launch in 2023, and an additional 20 products under review by the FDA. Summary
The Sr. Accountant will be a member of the Meitheal team supporting the Company’s high growth objectives, goals and strategies under the guidance of the Controller. The Sr. Accountant position will lead the month end close process, accounts receivable (including gross to net adjustments) and will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information to the business leaders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for the overall month end close process including revenue, inventory, fixed assets, prepaids and supply chain accounting, reconciliation and analysis.
- Provides guidance, insight and technical expertise as it relates to general accounting.
- Responsible for calculating monthly accruals/reserves including; chargebacks, prompt pay discounts and inventory reserves.
- Analyzes, processes and resolves chargebacks items to establish appropriate credit within the contractual requirements through extensive research of EDI submissions to resolve discrepancies between wholesaler requests for credit and the Meitheal chargeback system.
- Works collectively with team in identifying new process and system improvement opportunities and identifies, resolves or escalates repetitive or complex discrepancies.
- Oversees corporate accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Reviews results on a monthly basis and provides variance analysis.
- Develops/maintains accounting policies, procedures and tools/templates to comply with U.S. GAAP.
- Prepares and maintains accounting documentation, including technical accounting research on complex accounting issues and documents the position papers.
- Develops, implements and reviews documentation for internal control compliance and testing.
- Independently and timely performs non-recurring, one-off projects and other analyses as delegated by the Controller.
- Develop into an integral member of the Finance Team and backup to the Controller through demonstrating leadership of the Finance Team, when necessary, including developing the confidence to independently make decisions.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with a mixture of public accounting.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC financial reporting, and management reporting and analysis.
Highly Preferred.
- CPA.

The Vice President, Head of Market Access is a key leader in facilitating collaboration and strategic alignment of the various functions including Commercial Marketing and Sales, Medical Affairs, R&D and other internal stakeholders. This position will be accountable for developing and executing market access strategies to optimize patient access and net revenue for Meitheal’s current and pipeline products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute market access strategies to demonstrate the clinical and economic value of Meitheal’s products.
- Lead the development of value proposition strategies that effectively communicate the benefits, outcomes, and cost-effectiveness of products to payers and other organized customers.
- Develop and implement pre and post approval market access plans, identifying potential barriers and opportunities, conducting payer landscape assessments, pricing research to shape go to market strategies and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align market access strategies with overall brand strategy, ensuring appropriate consistency.
- Work in concert with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of pricing and contracting strategies with overall commercial objectives and brand strategy.
- Monitor competitive pricing and contracting activities, and proactively identify opportunities and threats to inform strategic decisions in including pricing and contracting.
- Support development of reimbursement programs, physician, and patient resources to address barriers to access of Meitheal products including, but not limited to coding and billing guides, patient copay programs etc.
- Coordinate with external experts and internal teams, including medical affairs, clinical development, and health economics, to design and conduct robust HEOR studies and economic modeling, generating evidence to support reimbursement and payer coverage decisions.
- Work closely with the medical affairs team to develop and deliver scientific communications and educational materials that support market access and reimbursement discussions with payers.
- Provide the US payer input into clinical development programs across products and indications.
- Leverage market access insights, training, and data to facilitate field sales pull-though sales of Meitheal products
- Monitor and analyze market access metrics, including pricing, reimbursement, market share, and payer mix, and provide regular communication to peers and senior leadership.
- To ensure the success of the initiatives above, lead the build-out Meitheal’s Market Access department and allocate resources supported by the clear business need.
Education and/or Experience Required
- BS/BA required (science/business/finance), MS or MBA optional but preferred.
- 15+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with demonstration of increasing responsibility, in some combination of reimbursement, payer marketing, and/or payer account management.
- Strong understanding of the evolving US healthcare system, payer dynamics, access, and reimbursement.
- Demonstrated leadership of market access strategy of both pharmacy and medical benefit products.
- Demonstrated market access/customer segment knowledge across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Anticipatory, with the capacity to think through enterprise lens with good grasp of the broader healthcare landscape.
- Strong collaborator and demonstrated experience in influencing stakeholders to support strategic decisions.
